Weekly Weather: Nor’easter to Impact Tri-State Area First Part of Week

by Yaker Biegeleisen

A powerful storm is taking shape for our area, and the rain that we have had since Sunday night is just the beginning.

A storm brewing off the coast will consolidate into one monster storm, likely leaving our area with a few inches of snow when it’s done, and much more for areas north and west of the city by the time Wednesday rolls around.

The rain will continue through Monday, but late Monday night it will turn to snow. Given the temperatures this time of year (most likely remaining above freezing), we are likely to get only a slushy coating to an inch in the city—but the snow will come down, heavy at times, through Tuesday afternoon. This will reduce visibility on the roads, and drivers are urged to exercise caution.

The rest of the week will be mild, with temps reaching into the fifties during the daytime.
