Mayor Adams to Announce Official Appointment of Edward Caban as NYPD Commisioner Monday

by Mindy Cohn
Mayor Adams is expected to make interim NYPD Commissioner Edward Caban the official NYPD Commissioner on Monday, according to the New York Post.
Caban was appointed as interim NYPD Commissioner on July 1, as reported by BoroPark24 here, directly after the sudden departure of Keechant Sewell on June 30.
The announcement is expected to be made tomorrow at the 40th Precinct in the Bronx, as that station launched Caban's police career in 1991.
Caban would be the NYPD's first Latino commissioner.
