Mayor Adams Names Eddie Caban as Temporary Replacement for Outgoing NYPD Commissioner

As previously reported in BoroPark24, NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell resigned as the City’s top cop last month, with her last day in office Friday, June 30. Yesterday, as expected, Mayor Adams named Deputy Commissioner Eddie Caban as the interim replacement for the position.

"Until we name a permanent replacement, Eddie Caban has taken the helm as acting police commissioner,” said Mayor Adams. “Commissioner Caban is a consummate professional with over three decades of service in the NYPD. I know the hardworking men and women of our City’s police department have a strong leader in place until a more formal announcement is made in the coming weeks.”
