Agudah Chairman Hosts Gerer Rebbe at Dinner, Presents Him With Sefer Torah

Legendary philanthropist Reb Shloime Werdiger who serves as the chairman of the Board of Agudath Israel of America is first and foremost a devout Gerer chossid. 

This evening, he hosted the Gerer Rebbe at a dinner with the attendance of numerous prominent philanthropist who have each pledged large sums toward the emergency relief fund for Yidden in Eretz Yisroel. 

In the course of his heartfelt remarks, the evening’s host referred to those in attendance as Malachim—citing the words of the holy Sfas Emes. “The Rebbe made his way to us, and this obligates us,” said. “This entire mission is above nature… something deeply esoteric to revserse Heavenly judgements—and is the mission of these angels to stand with “Yaakov Avinu (referring to the Rebbe shlita).” 

The event was blessed with great success, and Reb Shloime presented the rebbe a Sefer Torah that he had commissioned in the rebbes honor.
