Alternate side Parking Will be Suspended Through July 12th

This morning, Thursday, July 2nd, Mayor Bill de Blasio suspended alternate side parking in NYC starting Sunday, July 5th through Sunday, July 12th.

When NYC began shutting down due to the coronavirus, the city suspended alternate side parking to prevent people from leaving their homes. In May, the City brought it back in order to get the streets cleaned but shut it down right after. On June 29th they once again reinstated the alternate side parking rules, but have now announced that they will be suspended.

De Blasio says its “unfair to everyone” for car-owners to be required to move their cars twice a week for cleaning.

Laws relating to parking remain the same.
