BALTIMORE IS COMING TO BORO PARK TONIGHT!!!
The housing crisis in Brooklyn isn’t getting any better. But the out-of-town options are, and Baltimore is likely to be your best choice.
House prices continue to sky-rocket, apartment rentals are exorbitant, and it’s not uncommon for young couples to start their new life in local hotels due to the lack of options as reported recently here on boropark24.com.
Until a few years ago, there were opportunities to move out to Monsey, Lakewood and surrounding areas, but with demand, those prices have too now doubled and tripled, crossing it off the list for young families.
So what is a Chasiddish, growing family to do?
Of the many beautiful new neighborhoods which sprouted to respond to the need, one kehilla stands out: the Baltimore chassidishe Khal Chassidim kehilla.
Planting themselves in the center of a thriving, Torah’dige, established community, only a 3-hour pleasant car ride from Brooklyn, with thousands of frum families, the infrastructure is there, ready to greet newcomers with open arms.
With nearly 7,000 families, over 50 shuls, mikvaos, schools, yeshivos and kollelim - including four new kollelim that opened this Elul, beautiful scenic parks and lakes close by, it is the best of both worlds, b’ruchniyus u’bgashmiyus.
Besides for huge department stores all close by to the heimish neighberhood, Baltimore boasts multiple heimish stores. Best quality clothing and shoe stores both for adults and children, silver stores, jewelry stores, restaurants, bakeries, Judaica, and many many more. The popular Seven Mile Supermarket - said to be the biggest kosher one in the USA carries every heimishe brand that you can think of, including KJ meat!
And when it comes to chesed, it’s a marvel. Hatzalah, Misaskim, Chaverim, Shomrim, Chesed Cars, Ahavas Yisroel, and of course the Bikur Cholim operation that opened solely for the many foreigners who seek the medical advancements of the city’s top-tier local establishments - world class hospitals. The hospitals also cater to the happy simchas. The maternity ward in the Jewish owned Sinai hospital is one of the best in the USA.
In recent years, dozens of chassidish families have moved to Baltimore. What started as a kollel ten years ago with a handful of earnest yungeleit, has grown into a thriving chassidish kehilla, with its own beis midrash and mosdos. The chassidishe cheder and school have well over 100 kinderlach ka’’h and have developed a reputation for its amazing chinuch, credit to a team of top-notch and dedicated staff.
Another huge bonus of living in Baltimore is the vouchers available for residents, which is a huge relief for tuition – something many Mosdos tend to struggle with, especially in new kehillos, given the student-staff ratio.
On top of that, house prices, as well as property tax, are still very low compared to other areas. A decent-sized detached house can be yours for $300,000, and new-construction 6-bedroom townhouses are available for less than $500,000. In addition, a huge develpoment of 150 townhomes is currently being built in a beautiful area right next to the heimish community and will be sold for approximately $500k a house of 3000 sqft!
Being that Baltimore is a huge city, multiple job opportunities are available for both men and women. Askanim are working to help with job placements based on your experience and capabilities.
A recent open-house event in Monsey drew a warm crowd eager to learn more about what the kehilla has to offer and multiple families have come for Shabbos to see from close. Some Monsey families have already moved there in the last months, with more planned in the near future iyH.
This week Sunday, Boro Park will have the opportunity to hear first-hand from the askanim what Baltimore has to offer and if this might just be the perfect fit for you to bring up your family, with unparalleled menuchas hanefesh, away from the hustle and bustle of New York, without giving up the New York luxuries. It’s the combination of the in-town conveniences with the out of town greenery. One that moves to Baltimore does not give up on anything! It is only a gain! The experts in the housing field predict that Baltimore will iy”H become the new fonteir for chasidisha families bez"H.
Join us for an informative evening that will iyH take place TONIGHT at the Tenke Hall on 4812 12th hall, Sunday Parshes Ki savo, 15th of September, at 9-11pm.
