BDE: Mrs. Lifsha Spira, a”h

We regret to inform you of the petirah of Mrs. Lifsha Spira, a longtime Boro Park resident. She was 90 years of age. 

The nifteres was born to Rabbi and Mrs. Yidel Hass in Romania, where she spent an idyllic childhood. Reb Yidel was an ardent Antania chossid, and would travel to the Antania Rebbe on numerous occasions, and raised his family on the path of Torah and chassidus. 

The family remained in Romania following the war for five years, and ultimately made it to Eretz Yisroel, where she married Reb Yidel Spira—a fiery Belzer chossid who was zoche to be meshameish the previous Belzer Rebbe— who was niftar two years ago. Reb Yidel was the gabbai of the flagship Belzer Beis Medrash in Boro Park for forty years, until his last days. In all his avodas hakodesh, his devoted wife stood at his right hand every step of the way. 

For many years, the nifteres worked in the offices of Aleh Negev, a rehabilitation village for impaired adults in Eretz Yisroel, with extraordinary dedication. She was known for her refined ways and her devotion to her family. 

The Levaya took place yesterday, Tzom Gedaliah, in front of the Belzer Beis Medrash on 15th Avenue.
