YS GOLD
Rabbi Yaakov Fruchter left the world this afternoon following decades of devotion to providing Jewish children with inspiring, educational, and engaging reading material. A longtime resident of Boro Park, he had moved to Lakewood in recent years.
Rabbi Fruchter was an editor at Torah Umesorah, and worked tirelessly to provide Jewish children with inspiring literature long before there were commercial Jewish magazines.
In a statement, Torah Umesorah's leaders wrote: "B’lev v’nefesh, he poured his time, talent, and energy into transforming Olomeinu into a beloved chinuch staple, inspiring generations of children. Through his authorship, editorial leadership, and unwavering dedication, he expanded Torah Umesorah Publications to provide schools across the globe with impactful chinuch resources."
Rabbi Fruchter's levaya will take place on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Sons of Israel Chapel 613 Ramsey Avenue Lakewood, NJ. The Kevura will take place approximately 1:30 p.m. at Beth David Cemetery Elmont, NY
