BDE: Reb Chaim Dov Weissberg , z"l, Proprietor of Dave's Fruit Store

We regret to inform you of the passing of Reb Chaim Dov Weissberg, z"l. He was around 80 years of age. 

Reb Chaim Dov was the grandson and namesake of Rav Chaim Dov Weisberg of Hungary, a great rov and tzaddik who was killed in the Holocaust. 

The niftar was a longtime proprietor of a fruit store in the community (near Amnon's Pizza), and was a beloved personality. The store was known to attract those in search of finer fruits and vegetables. 

Members of the community recall that he would place boxes of fruit outside the store before Yamim Tovim, so the poor people of Boro Park would also have fruit for Yom Tov. 

Reb Chaim Dov was unwell for many years, and was confined to a home. 

The levaya took place in on Motzei Shabbos in front of the Kashau Beis Medrash in Williamsburg.
