BDE: Reb Mordechai Zev Steinmetz, z”l

We regret to inform you of the passing of Reb Mordechai Zev Steinmetz, z”l, a longtime Boro Park resident. He was 90 years of age. 

The niftar was born in the year 1935. His father was Reb Baruch. He learned in the Dushinsky yeshiva in his youth, and he was very close to Maharitz Dushinsky. 

An ardent Viznitzer Chossid, he would travel to the Toras Mordechai of Viznitz-Monsey every Hoshana Rabbah to poyel ah git yohr. 

A longtime Boro Park resident, he davened in the Khal Chassidim shul, and in the Beth El minyan in basement. 

Reb Mordechai owned a furniture company for many years, and he was known for his honesty in business as well as his person integrity. One neighbor described him as, “an emes voile yid.”
