BDE: Reb Yankel Kletzky, z”l

We regret to inform you of the passing of Reb Yankel Kletzky, a longtime beloved figure in the Boro Park community.

He was born 70 years ago in Yerushalayim to his parents, Reb Chaim Binyomin Tzvi Kletzky, and his mother Chana, who hailed from the legendary Krishevsky family. Both families had made their home in the holy land for generations.

Yankele, as he was lovingly known, made his way to America. He worked for many years as a delivery man for Mendy’s Restaurant in Manhattan.

With his charm, his wit, and good nature, he was loved by all who knew him. He lived on the block of the Sfardishe Shul, and was one of its staunch members… always part of things.

His beloved nephews were like his children, and they were always there for him.

Yankele now returns to the land of his birth, to be buried on Har Hazeisim near his family—but he will long be remembered in the hearts of the Boro Park community that knew and loved him.

The Levaya will take place this morning (Friday) at 11:00 at Shomrei Hadas.

Kevurah will be in Eretz Yisroel on Sunday.
