BDE: Reb Yehuda Leib Stein, z”l

We regret to inform you of the passing of Reb Yehuda Leib Stein, z”l, a beloved member of the Boro Park community who became endeared to many of the families in Boro Park. He was 73 years of age. 

He was born in Oklahoma to a non-observant family. It was upon the visit of a Rebbe to his city that he began to come close to Yiddishkeit, and it took incredible mesirus nefesh for him to keep Yiddishkeit during those early days. 

He was an attorney by profession, but his love was Torah. He was an astoundingly brilliant person, and his specialty of chiddushim was in gimatriya’os—seeking the hidden meaning in Torah through numerical chiddushim. His Torah was fascinating, according to many who knew him. 

He was a loving and friendly person who had a smile for everyone.  

Reb Yehuda Leib, z”l, left behind an immense amount of Torah insights on his website. Anyone who will make their way there and learn from his Torah, it will surely be a zechus for his neshamah.
