BDE: Reb Yisroel Duvid Weinstock, Z”l

We are saddened to inform you of the passing of Reb Yisroel Duvid Weinstock, z”l, longtime proprietor of the Gentleman’s Boutique men’s clothing establishment which has has stood on Sixteenth Avenue near Fiftieth Street for decades.

 Reb Srul Duvid was born in Hungary 94 years ago (1927) to his parents, Reb Moshe Hillel and Frieda Weinstock.

 He came to America following the Holocaust with nothing but the shirt on his back. In time he would clothe hundreds in the community with much more than shirts—establishing a reputation for ehrlichkeit and uprightness.

 He was a longtime mispalel at the Kirlhaz Beis Medrash, on 16th Avenue and 49th Street, from where the levaya went out this morning, on its way to Netanya, where the niftar will be laid to rest, leaving behind a beautiful Torah family.
