BDE: Rebbetzin Dinah Perkowski, A”h

We regret to inform you of the passing of Rebbetzin Perkowski, a”h, a longtime Boro Park resident, Rebbetzin, and mechaneches within the community. She was 92 years old.

The nifteres was born in Yerushalayim shel ma’alah, amongst the holy Yidden of the old Yishuv. Her father was Rav Yehoshua Ludmir, a talmid of Rav Isser Zalman Meltzer, and young Dinah attended Beis Yaakov in Yerushalayim along with the daughters of the Gedolim of Yerushalayim, including the Elyashiv’s and the Shmulevitz’s.

She married Rav Yisroel Perkowski, a refugee from the Mirer yeshiva in Shanghai, who later became the Rosh Yeshiva of Beis Hatalmud in Bensonhurst, as well as the longtime rov of the Zeirei Agudas Yisroel on Sixteenth Avenue. Rav Yisroel was known as a ga’on and an odom godol, and his Rebbetzin stood at his side in everything he did.

Rebbetzin Perkowski was a longtime mechaneches in Beis Yaakov Seminary, where she impacted generations of talmidos who remain inspired by her lessons to this day.

The Rebbetzin was nifteres this past Shabbos, and the levaya will be held at Yeshiva Beis Hatalmud at 11:00 this morning.
