BDE: The Sasregener Rebbetzin, Matriarch of Boro Park Admorim and Rabbonim

We regret to inform you of the passing of Rebbetzin Mirel Rubin, a”h, the almanah of Rebbe Mordechai Dovid Rubin of Sasregen, and a scion of great Chassidic dynasties. She was 101 years of age, and leaves behind an incredible legacy. 

The Rebbetzin was the daughter of Rav Yehoshua Eichenstein of Zidichoiv, and she grew up in the glorious world of prewar Galicia. She merited to survive the Holocaust through great miracles. 

She married the Sasregener Rebbe following the war, and stood at his right hand in his decades of rabbonus in the Flatbush community. 

She was the mother of, ybl”ch, Rav Yehoshua Rubin, the Rov of the Bobov-45 chassidus, the Brizdovitzer Rebbe of Boro Park, the Rebbetzin of the Spinka Rebbe of Boro Park, and of the Kolomaya Rebbe. 

The Levaya took place on Wednesday evening in front of the Spinka Beis Medrash, and on Thursday morning in front of the Sasregener Beis Medrash. 

The Rebbetzin is being taken to Eretz Yisroel for kevurah.
