Beware as Friday Night Burglaries Spike

Given the recent uptick in robberies on Friday night, residents are warned to beware of Boro Park burglars breaking in when families leave for Shabbos or go out for the seudah at night. 

This spike in local thefts is a reminder to residents to take the necessary precautions when leaving home at any time and especially on Friday night.

Suggested measures to protecting your home include leaving lights on with a Shabbos timer so the home looks occupied; not leaving the key in the door or near the door or window gate. Fire escapes are one way the burglars have gained access to homes recently – so make sure the fire escape has a lock and that it is locked. Close shades and don't leave valuables in the open.
