Bissell Issues Recall for 64,300 Cordless Wet-Dry Vacuums

by BoroPark24 Staff

Bissell issued a recall of 64,000 cordless multi-surface vacuum cleaners because they can overheat and catch on fire.

The company voluntarily announced the recall of the cordless multi-surface, wet-dry vacuum models 2551, 2551W, and 25519 due to a fire hazard posed by the circuit board inside the vacuum’s battery pack that can overheat and smoke.

A total of 61,000 vacuum cleaners recalled were sold in the United States, and the remaining 3,300 were sold in Canada.

Consumers can receive a free battery pack replacement by visiting their nearest BISSELL Authorized Service Center with their vacuum or by contacting BISSELL to schedule a free in-home repair visit from an authorized BISSELL service technician to replace the existing battery pack inside the vacuum.

Contact Bissell toll-free at 855-417-7001 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern Time Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, or online at www.bissell.com/recall Click on “Product Recalls” at the bottom of the page.
