The day after early voting kicked off yesterday, Bobov community leaders urged community members to cast their votes for Dan Goldman, a former federal prosecutor, who has earned the support of the Bobov Chassidus.
“With NY10 being a progressive leaning district, all top tier candidates have strong progressive stances, but one of them stood out as someone who will listen to our community once elected to Congress,” said Rabbi Joel Rosenfeld, a Bobov community leader.
“Dan Goldman, has strong Orthodox Jewish family ties, understands our needs and has deep respect for the Orthodox Jewish community, Rabbi Rosenfeld said. “We encourage every registered Democrat in NY10 to come out and vote for Dan Goldman to be our next Congressman.”
Top-tier candidates Goldman, who a former federal prosecutor, City Council Member Carlina Rivera, who represents the Lower East Side and the East Village, and Assembly Member Yuh-Line Niuo, who represents Lower Manhattan and Chinatown, and US Rep. Mondaire Jones, who now represents Rockland County, have recently polled within striking distance of each other.
Yesterday, Goldman received the coveted New York Times’ endorsement, which may provide the favored candidate’s campaign with the boost he needs to pull ahead to victory.
“Mr. Goldman’s law enforcement experience offers a valuable perspective at a time when New Yorkers are concerned about public safety,” the Times said in its endorsement.
The Times also highlighted Goldman’s previously established relationships in the US Congress, “an advantage that should help him deliver on the issues most important to New Yorkers, even as a new member of Congress.”
