Boro Park Streets Closed Again for Road Work, Just Weeks After Repaving

By Y.M. Lowy

Multiple streets in Boro Park will be closed today and tomorrow for road work for green infrastructure projects. The closures come only weeks after many of these same roads were freshly paved, leaving residents frustrated with what feels like poor planning.

The timing adds to the frustration, with work taking place during one of the busiest Yom Tov seasons of the year. Instead of enjoying smoother streets, busy drivers with long lists of errands are facing detours and blockages on roads that were already recently repaved.

Residents are questioning why the city would repave streets only to dig them up again so soon, calling the process wasteful and inconsiderate to a community that relies heavily on accessible roads during this time of year.
