Boro Park Symposium Held for Caregivers of Those Suffering from Dementia/Alzheimer's
By M.C. Millman
Tuesday night, September 13, was a memorable evening for caregivers of those who suffer from dementia and Alzheimer's. Organized by the Boro Park Jewish Community Council in partnership with Zicharon, the evening held at Young Israel Beth El of Boro Park, provided a valuable resource for Boro Park caretakers.
In an effort by BPJCC and Zicharon to relieve some of the tremendously overwhelming burden of pain on the shoulders of caretakers facing such challenges, David Troxel, M.P.H., renowned author and Dementia Care Trainer, shared expert advice and fielded questions from attendees dealing with this daily crisis.
"The packed crowds on Tuesday night," says Avi Greenstein, BPJCC CEO, "were a red flag announcing the sad reality of how many in our community are suffering from this terrible disease. We were thrilled to be able to provide the most sought-after, impactful expert in the field, whom we flew in from Sacramento to help and guide the community."
Sponsors of the evening included Elite Homecare, Fidelis Care, Regency Health, and Korsinsky & Klein, LLP.
