Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso Announces Run for Congress

Fresh off his re-election as Brooklyn’s youngest and first Latino Borough President on November 4, Antonio Reynoso has officially announced he is running for Nydia Velázquez’s NY-07 congressional seat.

The district includes almost all of Williamsburg, most of Bushwick, Greenpoint, Ridgewood, parts of Sunset Park, and the Lower East Side.

Velázquez announced her retirement on November 20. With the seat now open, multiple candidates are expected to jump into what will be a highly watched 2026 primary.
