Brooklyn DA Eric Gonzalez announced that Brooklyn lawyer Salvatore Strazzullo has been arraigned on an indictment charging him with stealing close to $1.5 million from three clients he represented in real estate and estate proceedings.
“Attorneys have an ethical duty to protect their clients’ interests, and we will hold accountable those who use their trusted position to steal from Brooklyn residents,” the DA said in a statement.
Strazzullo, 51, whose law office is located in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, was arraigned before Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Rhonda Tomlinson on an indictment in which he is charged with one count of first-degree grand larceny, two counts of second-degree grand larceny and one count of first-degree scheme to defraud. The defendant was released without bail and ordered to return to court on January 17, 2024.
The alleged fraud cases include several real estate transactions in Boro Park, and the DA’s office encourages anyone who feels the defendant may have victimized them to come forward.
