Burglar Breaks Into Car as Owner Steps Out
Boro Park – A driver who got out of his vehicle and walked a few feet away before pressing its remote control lock feature found out the hard way that he should have locked it manually.
The vehicle’s owner parked his car on 10th Ave. and 86th Street on Thursday morning and then stepped out. Before he had the chance to lock it, a man wearing a green hoodie and a pair of earphones entered the vehicle.
Dashcam footage shows the mustachioed thief rummaging through briefcases before grabbing a cellphone and some cash and making his getaway.
Law enforcement agencies recommend locking cars while you’re still standing within reach. It takes only a few seconds for your car to be robbed.
