Cashless Tolling Systems Going Up in Manhattan in Preparation of Congestion Pricing

The MTA has begun the installation of tolling mechanisms to make congestion pricing into a new reality for New York City drivers.
The new construction began at 61st Street and West End Avenue in Manhattan. Drivers can expect the gantries to appear from west to east above 60th Street.
And while the MTA board met last week, they say they will not be making many exemptions as that would defeat the purpose of getting more people back on trains and buses.
The toll is expected to go into effect next spring.
