Catskills Shmira Steps In After Frum Mother Mistreated Over Minor Walmart Mistake
By BoroPark24 Staff
What should have been an ordinary shopping trip at the Monticello Walmart turned into a humiliating nightmare for a frum mother.
According to witnesses, the woman paid for a full cart of groceries but mistakenly weighed only four plums instead of six. The mistake occurred while she was being assisted by a Walmart employee at the self-checkout, who helped her scan the items and even skipped two plums during the process. As she exited the store, the manager, who claimed to have been monitoring the cameras, called the sheriff’s deputies.
In the middle of the confrontation, the woman began feeling ill and on the verge of fainting. Deputies offered her water while Hatzolah was called to assist.
A witness at the scene contacted Levi Leifer from Shmira, who responded quickly and successfully de-escalated the situation. Shmira later confirmed that this is part of a disturbing trend, with several similar incidents occurring at the same location.
Another Walmart shopper told BoroPark24 that his own items were not properly scanned on multiple occasions, blaming the store’s outdated or faulty checkout machines.
