CB12 Considers Zoning Changes to Allow Construction of Two Massive Buildings on 14th Avenue
By Yehudit Garmaise
Boro Parkers may soon see construction workers on 14th Avenue who are starting to build two large new buildings in the neighborhood: a large commercial office building and five-story shul for Bobov-45.
On Dec. 13, at 6:30pm, two applicants will be speaking to Community Board 12 in a public hearing to propose their plans for new construction, according to notices of public hearings posted by CB12.
First, Eli Gewirtz, a lawyer from the firm Davidoff, Hutcher, and Citron, will seek zoning changes to allow the development of a new, five-story, 134,840 square-foot commercial office building with space for a supermarket, office space, and an enclosed parking garage with 63 spaces.
Drivers would enter the building’s parking ramp from 37th Street, and bicyclists will be provided with 35 spaces to park their bikes.
Secondly, Sheldon Lobel will speak on behalf of Khal Bobov-45 to propose the creation of a new five-story shul at 4910 14th Avenue.
Residents who would like to speak at the meeting or leave written comments for CB12 to review must submit their requests before 5pm, on Tuesday, Dec. 13.
