CDC to Extend Travel Mask Requirement for Two More Weeks

Don’t expect to remove your masks on the plane on Monday, when the nationwide mask requirement was set to expire because the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will extend the mask mandate for two weeks, 1010 WINS reported.
The CDC will extend the transit masking order as the agency watches for any observable increases in severe virus outcomes as COVID-19 cases rise in parts of the country.
President Joe Biden had been hoping to roll out a more flexible masking strategy this week to replace the nationwide requirement, however, the CDC is making the move “out of abundance of caution,” said a source familiar with the matter.
