Child Riding Scooter Struck by a Car on 17th Ave

Boro Park - A Boro Park child is lucky to be alive after he was struck by a moving car while riding a scooter on Tuesday afternoon.

The boy was riding his bike on 17th Ave. and 61st Street when a car with Illinois license plates that was moving struck him. The boy was unable to stop his scooter in time.

Hatzolah members removed the boy and transported him in stable condition to Maimonides Medical Center.

Photos show the scooter stuck under the car’s wheels.

“The boy is lucky to be alive,” one onlooker said.
