Communicated: Meet Sam Sutton Running To Represent you in the state senate.

Please introduce yourself a little to the community. Tell us about yourself and what made you decide to run for the State Senate position.
Hi, and thank you for giving me the platform to share a little about what I stand for and where I come from. As a long-time community leader in the Sephardic Community in Flatbush, I’ve been involved in many community projects and helped thousands of people throughout the years, advocating on a local level. It would be my honor to take this opportunity to fight for the community in Albany.
With the Democratic Party holding the majority at all levels of government, we often encounter politicians who fail to understand our values. They create bills that do not reflect our interests. Let’s make sure we have our own people in that same government in order to fight for our needs and make sure our community has what we need. Given our community’s growth, we need a representative who is deeply rooted in our community, one who understands its dynamics. I am confident that my experience and dedication will allow me to effectively serve as our voice in the state legislature.
I specifically want to advocate for our community to protect school choice and make sure our yeshivas have all the resources they need. We all know our Chinuch is in deep trouble, but I am currently working with colleagues in Albany, to bring results and I will further pursue this issue until it is resolved, and I know I have the ability to deliver results as your next State Senator.
What other issues are you looking to help resolve in the community?
There are numerous pressing issues I plan to address once I take office, particularly on community issues such as vouchers, the program which we almost lost. I was involved with this, using my connections and experience to lobby for it, and Baruch Hashem, with the help of other legislators and democratic leaders, were able to deliver results to bring the program back. I will tirelessly work to ensure that the Jewish community in Boro Park has the support it needs to thrive, and with Antisemitism on the rise across NYC and far beyond, ensuring our neighborhood, yeshivas and shul’s remain safe is of utmost importance to me.
Is there anything else you’d like to add?
I urge you all to make your voices heard and go out to vote. My promise is to be there for the community every day. My office will, IYH, always be available to support you with any concerns. I understand the needs of our community, and I pledge to keep my promises. And I once again urge you to vote; this election is an important one. We need a representative who will be able to deliver the results the Jewish community requires.
Early Voting from May 10 till May 18
