Community Board 12 Clarifies: 13th Ave Sukkah Vendors Will Continue as Usual

By BoroPark24 Staff

Following concerns raised by many residents and a popular poll conducted on BoroPark24 regarding the 13th Avenue Sukkah street vendors, the Community Board 12 shared the following message:

"We are not stopping the Yom Tov vending. Everything will be sold on the streets just like every year.

What happened is that some vendors started chaining their tables to light poles etc. two months before Yom Tov, making it difficult for people to move around. Two months in advance is too early, so we called the DSNY after receiving numerous complaints from both the community and local stores. They issued warnings, which didn’t resolve the issue, so they had to break the chains.

However, as mentioned, the usual sales in the weeks leading up to Sukkos will continue as always.

We want to wish everyone a Kesiva V'chasima Tova and a Freilichen Yom Tov."
