Eichler's Sold, Shopwise and Luxury Linen Close: Another Round of Boro Park Retail Changes
By BoroPark24 Staff
In recent months, BoroPark24 has reported on changes in the local retail scene, including updates on nearly 20 stores around Boro Park. Today, we have more news to share about the evolving landscape.
The iconic Shopwise, located at the corner of 44th Street and 16th Avenue, known for its "18 for a dollar" deals and a wide variety of "chachkes," prizes, and supplies, has recently closed its doors. The store was a beloved spot for parents and teachers (no kids!), but now it appears to be part of Boro Park's history.
Similarly, Luxury Linen, a longtime fixture on 16th Avenue and 49th Street, is currently holding a "store closing" sale. The store, which has maintained the same signage and appearance for decades, is preparing to close its doors, marking the end of an era for another Boro Park staple.
Lastly, Eichler's, the well-known Judaica store in Boro Park, which was sold to an investor just a few years ago, has changed hands again. Menucha Publishers is the new owner, promising an enhanced shopping experience for those seeking Judaica, sefarim, books, and gifts of all kinds.
