Extraordinary Story of Hashgacha Pratis: Boro Park Yungerman Lands Safely in Kerestir Just Minutes Before Tragic Helicopter Crash
By Y.M. Lowy
A helicopter crash in southern Poland triggered a major overnight search and rescue operation, after emergency services were alerted to a possible aviation accident in a remote mountainous area between Limanowa and surrounding regions.
Firefighters, police units, military teams, drone operators, and mountain rescue personnel worked through the night in difficult terrain after contact with the aircraft was lost shortly after 1:00 a.m.
The wreckage was located Thursday morning, with authorities confirming that the pilot, a 30-year-old man, was the only person on board and was found deceased at the scene. There were no passengers aboard.
Only minutes before the crash, the same helicopter had been carrying a Boro Park yungerman on a flight from Radoshitz, Poland, to Kerestir, Hungary. He had just been on board the aircraft that would later go down, traveling the very same route moments before the accident unfolded.
The flight had gone very smoothly. The yungerman was safely dropped off in Kerestir, and only after that did the helicopter continue on its return leg toward Poland.
From there, within a short time and just minutes after that drop-off, the aircraft lost contact and later crashed in the mountains of southern Poland.
It is hard to ignore the clear hand of Hashem in how it unfolded. The same flight, the same night, the same aircraft - and yet this Yid stepped off safely in Kerestir just minutes before tragedy struck on the return flight. We are only given brief glimpses into how events unfold, but at times like these, we see a small window into how precisely everything is directed from Above.
