Ferry Price Rises: NYC Ferry Fares to Rise to $5 Beginning October 19
Yisroel R.
NYC Ferry riders will soon pay more for trips across the city, with the base one-way fare set to increase from $4.50 to $5 beginning Monday, October 19.
Under the new fare structure, the price of a 10-trip pass will rise from $29 to $30, raising the cost by $1 for frequent riders.
Discounted one-way fares will also increase slightly, from $1.45 to $1.50. The reduced fare is available to eligible riders, including participants in the Ferry Discount Program and students enrolled in the NYC Ferry Student Discount Program.
The city is also making its two-day unlimited ticket permanent at $15, allowing riders unlimited trips across all NYC Ferry routes for a 48-hour period.
The fare increase comes as NYC Ferry faces higher operating costs, with city officials pointing to inflation and rising fuel expenses tied to international circumstances as key factors behind the change.
The fare changes come as NYC Ferry expands discounted student access to include middle school students citywide. The broader student eligibility took effect September 1.
The new fares will officially take effect on October 19.
