Four-Way Stop Installed at Dangerous Boro Park Intersection

Four-Way Stop Installed at Dangerous Boro Park Intersection

By BoroPark24 Staff

In a major safety win for Boro Park residents, a four-way stop has officially been installed at the intersection of 61st Street and 21st Avenue, one of the area’s most problematic corners.

The installation comes after continuous efforts by BoroPark24 and local residents, who repeatedly urged the Department of Transportation to take action at the crash-prone intersection. Over the years, the corner has seen numerous accidents, leaving drivers and pedestrians on edge.

Following recent pressure, the DOT confirmed the intersection would receive new signage - and now, the signs are up.

While the ultimate goal remains the installation of a full traffic light to ensure maximum safety, the newly installed four-way stop is a meaningful step forward in improving conditions.

“This is something the community fought for, and now we’re seeing results,” said one local resident. “We’re one step closer to safer streets.”

BoroPark24 will continue updating on further improvements.
