Gabo’im of Kollel Chibas Yerushalayim Gather to Cement Two-Century Legacy
On a recent evening, dozens of gabo’im of the legendary Kollel Chibas Yerushalayim Rabi Meir Ba’al Hanes gathered to prepare for the upcoming annual dinner, an event through which Yidden have kept up the tradition of supporting their brethren in Eretz Yisroel for centuries.
A feeling of privilege was felt in the hall among the energetic askonim; the privilege of being part of this exalted and holy tradition.
Reb Akiva Miller, one of the younger, energetic askonim, noted that, thanks to increased effortson the part of the organization and its askonim, the Kollel succeeded in sending 15% more funding in the last year over the previous years.
Rav Berish Rubin, shlit”a, the menahel of the Kollel, explained that the passion for this cause is the result of a holy flame within the hearts of Yidden who have kept this tradition alive for two centuries—cementing and perpetuating a golden chain, transmitted by the Admorim and Rabbonim who have stood at the Kollel’s helm for more than two hundred years.
