Gov. Cuomo to Deliver Farewell Address at noon, Says He Will not Run for Public Office Again

In advance of Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s 11:59pm departure tonight from serving as the governor of New York, today at noon, he will be delivering a “farewell address" at https://www.governor.ny.gov/

Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul will be taking over the reigns as governor in mere hours, after Gov. Cuomo resigned from office after Attorney General Letitia James provided in a months-long investigation and countless witnesses that the soon-to-be former governor harassed at least 11 staffers, although even more have come forward since the closing of James’s investigation.

Surprisingly, Cuomo, who said he is “exploring a number of options” released a statement today that he has no interest in running for office again.

Between [working as the assistant secretary] of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and as former President Bill Clinton’s HUD secretary, New York’s attorney general, and 11 years as governor, Andrew Cuomo has spend nearly 25 years in public service, said a statement.

“And the way he does it, it is 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” the statement said. “He looks forward to spending time with his family and has a lot of fishing to catch up on.”
