Largest NYPD Union Endorses Chaim Deutsch for Congress
New York – The largest NYPD union has endorsed Chaim Deutsch in his campaign for Congress.
The Policeman’s Benevolent Association, which represents 24,000 police officers, said that Deutsch was always there for them and that’s why they are backing his Democratic primary campaign against incumbent Yvette Clarke.
“While other elected officials need to be prodded to support police officers,” PBA President Patrick J. Lynch said, “Chaim Deutsch regularly reaches out to ask what he can do to help us in our mission to protect all New Yorkers.”
Deutsch, a city councilman representing Midwood, thanked the PBA, and noted that he worked closely with them in his work as founder of the Flatbush Shomrim.
“I have been involved with public safety here in New York City since the 1980s,” Deutsch said, “and I have proudly watched as the men and women of the NYPD have devoted themselves to reducing crime and making our neighborhoods a safer place to live, work, and raise a family.” The primary, which features another five candidates, is in June.
