LEVAYE UPDATE: Tragic Accident: Pedestrian Struck and Killed on Way to Shul

The levaya of R' Dov (Berl) Brode, z”l, a 71-year-old longtime Flatbush resident who was tragically killed while walking home from shul, will take place this afternoon at 3:30 PM at Beth David Cemetery, located at 300 Elmont Rd, Elmont, NY 11003.

UPDATE 12:04am: The niftar has been identified as R’ Berl Brode, z”l, a 71-year-old longtime Flatbush resident who was on his way home from shul at the time of the tragic accident.
Friends from shul expressed their shock, recalling that they had just davened with him moments earlier - and now, heartbreakingly, he is no longer with them.
The levaya will take place today in Flatbush. Exact details and timing will be published once available.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE 11:03pm:
A tragic accident claimed the life of a pedestrian walking to Shul on Avenue I and East 5th Street on Monday evening.
The accident occurred around 9:45pm as the pedestrian was crossing the street and was hit by a vehicle. Hatzolah immediately responded to the scene, but the victim suffered critical injuries and sadly passed away.
