Luck Strikes Close to Home: Yid in Boro Park Wins NY Lottery Jackpot

By Y.M. Lowy

A top prize in the New York Lottery’s “$10,000 a Week for Life” scratch-off game has been claimed, with the winner taking home $4,372,060 after taxes in a lump-sum payout. The winning ticket was purchased at NO7 Grocery on 18th Avenue in Boro Park.

The winner, Marc Klein, formerly the manager of the Ateres Avrohom wedding venue and now working at Manhattan Beach wedding hall, chose the lump-sum payout rather than weekly installments.

Klein confirmed the win, saying, “Yes, it’s true. I have about 1,500 messages and like 50 missed calls. Baruch Hashem, a huge Bracha. Don’t worry, I’m not changing jobs or anything in my life. Thank you all for the Mazel Tovs.”

BoroPark24 spoke with the store owner, who said they’ve only had a winner this big once before; they told us the ticket was sold in September and, from what it seems like, the money was only collected now.

Hearing about a big win so close to home is always exciting, and for Boro Park, it feels like a little victory for everyone.
