Maimonides and NYCH to Join Forces In Providing Medical Care

By Yehudit Garmaise

Medical specialists from Maimonides Medical Center have been providing their services at New York Community Hospital (NYCH) since 2018, but on Dec. 10, the two hospitals further joined forces by signing an agreement to further collaborate their clinics.

The affiliation agreement between the two hospitals, which the hospitals’ CEO’s say will allow them to provide healthcare services more effectively and efficiently to Brooklyn communities, will continue to enhance both hospitals’ medical services, such as advanced imaging, cardiovascular care, surgical services, and cancer care.

For enhanced care of cancer patients getting chemotherapy, for instance, the hospitals will develop an infusion suite at NYCH.

“I am extremely proud of the work that has been done to get both organizations to this point in our collaborative effort to enhance medical care for our Brooklyn communities,” said Maimonides CEO Ken Gibbs. “Our commitment to delivering world-class care close to home for our patients is greatly aided by this affiliation, as our neighbors will now benefit from greater access to advanced medical care across both hospitals.”

NYCH CEO Barry Stern said that his hospital’s partnership with Maimonides has already provided tremendous benefits to the people of Brooklyn.

“We are excited about reaching this next crucial step in continuing to work together to ensure that Brooklyn residents have local access to outstanding care for years to come,” Stern said.
