Major Miracle on 13th Avenue as Heavy Gate Collapses Just as Pedestrian Passes By

By Y.M. Lowy

What could have ended in tragedy instead became a remarkable close call when a heavy roll-up gate suddenly collapsed on 13th Avenue and 49th Street.

Security footage from the scene shows a pedestrian walking past the storefront just when the large metal gate came crashing down onto the sidewalk. Thankfully no injuries occurred even on this busy street.

Chaveirim volunteers responded to the scene. The fallen gate blocked part of the area until it could be moved. Amnon from Ambon’s Pizza Store assisted the volunteers by using a Hi-Lo to help move the heavy gate safely to the side.
