Major Sewer Upgrade Underway on 36th St., Bringing Closures Between 14th and 15th Aves
By BoroPark24 Staff
A major new sewer and drainage project is now underway on 36th Street between 14th and 15th Avenues, bringing significant street closures and construction activity to the area.
Crews have begun digging up sections of the roadway as part of an infrastructure upgrade that will include installing large new sewer pipes and modern drainage equipment. The work is aimed at improving underground capacity and preventing backups and flooding during heavy rain.
Because of the scale of the excavation and pipe installation, drivers should expect ongoing lane reductions and temporary street closures on 36th Street, with detours in place as needed. Residents in the area may also notice increased truck traffic, noise, and limited parking while work continues.
