Man Demanding 'Charity' Takes Out Knife When He's Refused

Boro Park – A man was arrested on Sunday for threatening someone with a knife when he was refused money for charity.

The suspect approached his victim who was driving on 10th Ave. and 39th Street and asked for charity. The man responded that he did not have any cash on himself. The beggar then took out a knife from his clothes and proceeded to slash the victim’s vehicle with it, frightening the man’s wife,

another woman and children who were inside. He also tried slashing the car’s tires.

The victim contacted Shomrim, who arrived at the scene immediately.

The suspect barricaded himself into a nearby house, which Shomrim members surrounded until police arrived.
