At the monthly Community Council meeting, the CO of the 66th Precinct NYPD expressed his appreciation for the community's collaboration and the strong relationships that have developed during his first year in the role.
The CO noted that this week marks his first anniversary in the position, highlighting the progress made in keeping our neighborhood safe through these vital partnerships.
He also addressed the recent spike in snatchings carried out by perpetrators on mopeds, informing residents that Boro Park is expected to see a wave of moped confiscations in the upcoming weeks as part of a crackdown on this growing issue.
Multiple bus drivers attended the meeting, where they collectively voiced and deliberated on various operational challenges faced in the neighborhood. The key concerns raised included no-standing zone enforcement issues, the many recent street closures, pedestrian safety risks, and additional operational difficulties.
