Marketing Grants Announced for Local Brooklyn Businesses

By Y.M. Lowy
Thirteen Brooklyn businesses are getting a boost in the form of $2,000 microgrants meant to help them step into the digital world. The grants were announced yesterday by Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso.
Reynoso, whose father once ran a pizzeria and bodega, called the initiative personal. He sees small businesses as not just economic engines but entry points into the American dream for many immigrants.
The program was launched with $30,000 in city funding and will also provide multilingual support to help business owners navigate the digital shift.
Among the other businesses awarded are Emerly Custom Bridal on 50th Street, bringing some of that support right into Boro Park.
