Mayor Adams Heads to DC to Address NY's Illegal Migrant Crisis

Mayor Eric Adams is scheduled to make a second attempt at traveling to Washington on Thursday to discuss additional federal aid for New York City to assist with the ongoing and mounting illegal migrant crisis.
The mayor's last trip was canceled, as reported by BoroPark24 here, when the FBI raided the home of one of his top fundraisers, Brianna Suggs, in a campaign probe on whether the mayor received illegal contributions from Turkey.
"The goal here is to constantly go there," the mayor said, "be front and center and raise concerns of how this is impacting our city."
The main topic of discussion in DC, according to Deputy Mayor for Communication Fabien Levy, will be "the needs of NYC and other cities nationwide to manage the asylum seeker crisis."
Biden has not yet confirmed if he will meet with Adams.
New York City expects to spend $12 billion on the unrelenting flood of illegal immigrants through 2025, which has already led to deep budget cuts across the City, as reported by BoroPark24 here, in what appears to be the first step in the mayor's self-fulfilling September prophecy when Adams said the illegal migrant crisis "will destroy New York City," as reported by BoroPark24 here.
As of late November, some 146,000 migrants had arrived in the Big Apple since the spring of 2022, according to the latest data.
