Mayor Eric Adams says Increase in Illegal Immigrant Arrivals in NYC Overwhelm City Resources

By Yehudit Garmaise

President Joe Biden has been authorizing flights of illegal migrants into New York City: dropping them off at “city-owned affordable housing in the Bronx and Yonkers, or at nonprofits in Queens and Newburgh, or at a rest stop on the New Jersey Turnpike,” the New York Post has been reporting for nine months.

To accommodate the 2,800 “asylum-seekers” who have landed in recent weeks in NYC from Latin America and elsewhere, Mayor Adams said yesterday that the federal government needs to also deliver “additional federal resources immediately” to provide the essentials for which the city does not have the funds for.

Since Biden first took office in January 2021, the president has flown into the US more than 3 million illegal immigrants using federal funds supplied by taxpayers, the Post reported.

Illegal immigrants in NYC receive free housing, medical care, food, education, legal services, and other benefits paid for by taxpayers.

While NYC is trying to “do the right thing,” Mayor Eric Adams said yesterday, “We already have an overburdened shelter system.”

The mayor, who noted “a marked increase” in the flow of illegal immigrants into NYC, said that the immigrants need, “Food, clothing, and school.

“This is going to impact our schools because we do not turn away people because they are undocumented.”

Mayor Adams added that illegal students need translation services that are paid for by the city.

“There’s just a whole host of things that this is going to produce.”
