Memory Lane: Dairy Stores of Boro Park Then and Now
There was a time when Boro Park stores could get by selling a select few specialty items—a time when people, especially kosher consumers, relied on a lot fewer provisions in any case. One such specialty store was the dairy store—selling milk, eggs, butter, cream, bread, and a few other items.
Today, we take a tour around Boro Park to the dairy stores of the 1940s, and we try to compare them with the stores that are at the same location today.
