Menorah Masterpiece Fashioned by Elite Sterling Holds Historic Significance for Viznitzer Chassidim

Erev Chanukah of this year, a unique and intricate masterpiece menorah was presented to the Viznitzer Rebbe of Boro Park, and he lit publicly with it throughout the holy days of the Chanukah.

The menorah, made of pure silver and crafted by the artisans at Elite Sterling, is a near-exact replica of the famed and storied “Tzemach Shil”—the Shul where the Admorim of Viznitz davened for generations—that is so venerated among the chassidim today. An added feature are the “steps,” which are modeled after the Shul of the Toras Mordechai of Viznitz-Monsey, the Rebbe’s grandfather, and the crown on top is reminiscent after the Viznitz-Boro Park Shul. An additional feature are the 8 cups, which are fashioned in the likeness of the classic "Rizhiner becher" used by the Rebbes of Viznitz.

Finally, there are the “birds” affixed to the menorah. Among Viznitzer chassidim, there is a legend of the birds that used to hover above the beis medrash. The Rebbeim would say that they possess the souls of Yidden who came to the tzaddikim for a tikkun.

A representative of Elite Sterling explained that this menorah took close to a year to fashion. “We brought in a special craftsman from Italy especially for this project, and he worked closely with our team to achieve this magnificent masterpiece,” they said. “Viznitzer chassidim from around the world, who have been coming to us for years, have expressed breathtaking wonder at this incredible artifact, and philanthropists from within different branches in the chassidus are hoping to acquire similar pieces for their Admorim.

And so it was that on one corner of Boro Park, the Viznitzer Rebbe kindled a menorah that evokes the great avodah of his holy ancestors who inspired and elevated their chassidim for generations—in this world and the next.
