New NYPD Brooklyn South Chief Minch Visits Boro Park, Meets Key Community Organizations
By Y.M. Lowy
NYPD Brooklyn South’s new commanding officer, Charles Minch, visited Boro Park yesterday as part of an introductory tour aimed at gaining a closer, firsthand understanding of the neighborhood and its public safety needs.
During the visit, Chief Minch met with several major local organizations that play central roles in community safety and support, including Hatzolah, Shomrim, Chaveirim, Shmira, and Misaskim. He also stopped by Community Board 12, where local concerns and priorities were discussed.
Community leaders described the visit as an important step in strengthening coordination and communication between the NYPD and local volunteer organizations that often serve as first points of contact for residents.
The tour highlighted the wide range of services these groups provide - from emergency medical response and neighborhood patrols to assistance for families in crisis - and underscored the ongoing importance of collaboration between law enforcement and community-based networks.
